Beside the Ponds is about that Seyyed marries Robab after his wife's death and returns to his village. Taher, Seyyed's son who always recalls his mother, cannot emotionally relate with his father's new wife. Robab who is not capable of having a child, does not treat Taher nicely. Seyyed loves them both but these two keep avoiding each other. One day an incident occurs and the warehouse is burned. Robab is caught in the flames. People try to rescue her, but they do not succeed. Ultimately, Taher saves her from certain death. Since then Robab and Taher realize that they both need each other's kindness.
