Born in 1955 in Abadan, Asghar Abdollahi is a novelist and scriptwriter. He holds a BA in Literature from Tehran University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. More than 20 films have been made based on his scripts and ONE CANARY ONE CROW is his debut feature film.

Breakfast for Two is about that An enigmatic writer struggl ...ing for inspiration is suddenly confronted by the sudden death of a young woman in a hotel room. Setting up his typewriter, he begins to craft future events in this absorbing story filled with intrigue and wonder. As we follow the writer through several strange encounters, the riddle at the heart of it all slowly unfurls before him. The Immigrants is about that Between years 1941-51, many immigrants went to the south of Iran to work in the oil companies there. A couple, Tal'at and Karamat also go there in hope of a better life. But Tal'at the wife who is pregnant catches leaper and they have to remain outside the city. The husband makes a tea-house and they stay there. An immigrant girl Manzar who had lost her parents, come to the tea-house and lives by them too. Mercedes is about that Esfandiar because of his father's illness manages to get the expensive Mercedes to travel with it. But he decides to postpone his trip so he can enjoy a day with this car. He goes after his friends and together they begin to drive in the streets. Many misfortunes that happen to them in that day make Esfandiar so disgust about the car that in the morning he set the car on fire. The Long Farewell is about that Yahya is accused of murdering his wife who was in comma but because of lack of evidences after one year he got released. His wife's brother is after him to get revenge for his sister. Yahya falls in love with a woman and marries her but his dead wife's shadow seems to be heavily present in their life. The Quiet Home is about that Amir Jalaleddin, an old author, refuses to stop writing in spite of the fact that the time has changed and nobody likes his imagination anymore. He is trying hard and pays no attention to the protests of his wife, the guidance of the editor, and also the jobbery of the dealers. A woman called Narges who has lost his husband in the war enters his life and he devotes her the sentiments which cannot be brought in his stories. The initiative of a writer who does not want to retire himself, flourishes again by trying to calm down Narges, and his writings gains some freshness. Long Lost Sisters is about that A young, inquisitive girl named Nargess encounters a girl from another school who could pass as her twin. Amazed by the strange coincidence, the two girls rush to their respective parents, but neither side has the time to hear them out. Nargess finds herself caught between her mother and father as she tries in vain to make herself heard, and when that fails, the two girls hatch a plan to swap places and see if their parents notice. While everything goes smoothly at first, it's not long until they start encountering problems in this double-sided family drama. Winter Dreams is about that Three sisters find themselves trying to cope in the wake of their parent's death. One of the sisters, a young factory worker, finds herself faced with the prospect of marriage when a colleague shows his interest. Her older sister is crippled but largely responsible for the household and her younger sister is vibrant and feisty. Their vastly contrasting personalities make for interesting dynamics in the home that they share. The bond of sisterhood is at the heart of this charming drama.
