Babak Payami ( بابک پیامی ) was born in Tehran in 1966. He grew up in Iran and Afghanistan before leaving for Canada, where he enrolled in the cinema studies program at the University of Toronto. In 1998 Payami wrote, produced and directed his debut feature film One More Day. He later wrote, directed and co-produced with Marco Mueller his second feature film Secret BallotBabak Payami has been a Director in some movies:

... try to collect votes among the local islanders with mixed success. During the day, stressed by a series of absurd events, the two learn to get to know each other. At sunset, when the young woman leaves, the man realizes that the secret vote contained much more than he had ever imagined. One More Day is about that Movingly sensitive portrayal of the momentary contacts of those who cannot, or may not, commit themselves to a relationship, the emotionally dispossessed who yearn for some kind of compassion and closeness. Realistically filmed on the streets of Teheran, it is a ponderous, deliberate film.
