Born in 1968 in Tehran, Bijan Mirbagheri is a graduate in Photography from the School of Art. After making six short films, he won the Silver Leopard from the Locarno Film Festival (Switzerland/2005) for his debut feature film, WE ARE ALL FINE. His THIRD FLOOR also entered main competition of Warsaw Film Festival. Standing Alone is about that Mohammad, a 12 year-old teenager, has written a short story that has won the first prize in the school's competition. The education department authorities have planned to award him 0n the day of a religious celebration. When his cousin doesn't go to his work, his father who had promised the shopkeeper asks Mohammad to fill his place that day; he accepts with one condition: to be able to go to the school's ceremony at 2 pm. But Mohammad can't get along with the arrogant, hypocrite shopkeeper and stands up against him. This means that his father loses his job. Mohammad has to hide away from his father and his anger towards him, thus missing the school ceremony. But this act of him makes his father confident again against his arrogant employer. We Are All Fine is about that Jamshid, the elder son of Abbas Sakhaei's family, lives abroad for eight years. His wife, Vida, and his daughter, Shiva, have been living all these years with the family waiting for him to return. One day a young man called Kamran makes a phone call and gives a message from Jamshid whom they have not seen for years. Each of them has some image of him in their minds which differs as seen from a father's, mother's, sister's, brother's or wife's point of view. Maybe none of these images will match the real person. Omid, the youngest son of the family who is now spending his military service, decides to make a film and sends it to Jamshid via Kamran. Omid rents a camera and tries to make a video regarding the family and their situation. During the time Omid is filming the family, some events and arguments take place but each of the members appears in front of the camera irrespective of the problems and issues they have. When Omid goes to Kamran to send the video to Jamshid, he has already left the country.
