Daryush Shokof was born in Tehran and he completed his studies with a diploma in mathematics from Tehran High School. He moved to the USA and studied further in the fields of mathematics and physics. Shokof then moved to New York where he continued his studies at the New York University in the fields of Arts and Cinema. He finally moved to Germany where he became a full-time sculptor in 1985.
