Davood Rashidi ( داوود رشیدی ) was born in Tehran but his father's diplomatic career saw him raised in Turkey and France. He attended university in Geneva and earned a degree in Theater Directing and Acting. He returned to Tehran in 1965 and founded the Emrooz Theater Troupe, which recruited actors and actresses such as Parviz Fannizadeh, Dariush Farhang, Mehdi Hashemi, Fahimeh Rastkar, Siavash Tahmoores, Marzieh Boroomand and Soosan Taslimi. He made his cinematic debut with Escaping the Trap in ... 1972. Rashidi also starred in the period drama Hezar Dastan. Aside from acting and directing, Rashidi is also a film producer.
