Born in 1976 in Tehran, Hatef Alimardani is a graduate of theatre (BA). He has co-directed a number of short, documentary and animated films – for instance THE BUTTERFLIES DIE HERE – with Mohammad Lotfali. They also co-directed a feature film, THE SECRET OF TARAN DESERT, in 2010. A FUGITIVE FROM BAGBOO was Alimardani’s solo directorial debut.
