Rousta, Homa (born September 26, 1946, Tehran - died September 26, 2015, Los Angeles) Homa Rousta received an MA from the Bucharest National University of Drama in Romania. In 1970, she returned to Iran and began studying chemistry, but left her studies unfinished. She made her film debut with ‘The Glass Wall’ in 1971. In 1987, she appeared in ‘Little Bird of Happiness’, which saw her nominated for a Certificate of Merit for Best Actress in a Leading Role from the 6th Fajr International Film Fes

In 1990, she won the Best Actress award of the Art and Culture Festival of Village Life for her appearance in ‘Malak Khatoon’. She was also nominated for a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role from the 11th Fajr International Film Festival for her role in ‘From Karkheh to Rheine’ (1992). In 1996, she won the Sima Festival Award for Best Actress by appearing in the teleplay ‘The Magician’. She was also nominated for an Iran Cinema Celebration Best Actress Award in a Leading Role for her acting in ‘The Legion’ (1998). Rousta acted in several movies, including ‘Report of a Murder’ (1965), ‘The Passengers’ (1991), ‘Two Travel Companions’ (1991), and ‘Old Friends’ (2007). She also appeared in series, such as ‘The Trial’ (1998-1999), ‘Scarlet Soil’ (2001), and ‘A Mother's Song’ (2008). The veteran actress, after some years of struggling with cancer, eventually passed away on her 69th birthday.
