Hossein Amini was born on 18 January 1966 and is an Iranian-British screenwriter and film director. He was nominated for numerous awards for the 1997 film "The Wings of the Dove", including an Academy Award for Best Writing Adapted Screenplay. Amini's first screenplay was for the 1994 TV movie "The Dying of the Light", which was directed by Peter Kosminsky. Obstinacy is about that In autumn of 1954, due to a new post assigned to a diplomat in Moscow, a private party is being held in his house in Tehran. The guests are all his close friends and consist of some important governmental individuals. During the party, some escapees enter the house and make a disturbance. The officers also are seeking the houses in the neighborhood in search of the convicts. Through the encounters between the invaders and the guests, some events come up which show the real personalities of all the people involved.
