Born in 1953 in Tehran, Iraj Karimi ( ایرج کریمی ) studied Mechanical Engineering in Amir Kabir University, but started his career as a remarkable film critic due to his love for cinema. With his theoretical essays in FILM MAGAZINE, he established his position as a leading film critic between Iranian young film lovers. After directing TV series and movies, Karimi made his first feature film, GOING BY, in 2001. His third venture, KANDELOOS GARDENS (2004), went to become a cult film for the young
