Mahmood Azizi was born in Tehran. He received his PhD in theater in Paris. He has directed, written and acted in a number of plays and is also a university professor. Azizi was nominated for a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Symorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for 'Leili is with Me'.
