Mahmoud Rahmani ( محمود رحمانی‎ ) is a filmmaker, born in 1980, in Izeh, Iran. He has an honours degree from the First Professional Workshop of the Documentary and Experimental Film Center. Mahmoud Rahmani made his in debut with 'Gagola' (2003). He directed 'White Oil' "Nafte Sefid" (2005), his first documentary which was shown at various festival around Europe. His second documentary "Zero Degree Orbit" (2007) recieved more than 15 prizes. He received an honourable mention at the Munich Documen ...tary Film Festival for 'My mother, Oak' (2011), which follows a loner in his lost landscape due to a dam project.Mahmoud Rahmani has been a Director in some movies: My Mother Oak is about that Mahmoud Rahmani's documentary is an exploration of the conflict between environmental concerns and poverty, which developed in the Zagros Mountain regions in the southwest of Iran. In the wake of floods which submerged 63 villages, making 15,000 people homeless, many people were forced to cut down trees illegally in order to make a living. Rahmani’s film explores the lives and mindsets of some of these people, while providing visually poetic shots of the mountain regions. In this film Mahmoud Rahmani collaborates with Farid Daghagheleh, Amin Rahmani. White Oil is about that This short documentary explores the effects of a gas attack on an Iranian village in southern Iran. The village and surrounding area are arid and lifeless, the targets of foul chemical weaponry. An old man drives through the village visiting inhabitants, and tells us about their unfortunate tales. In this film Mahmoud Rahmani collaborates with Farid Daghagheleh, Sultan Morad Rahmani. Zero Degree Orbit is about that 'Zero-Degree Orbit' observes a war-stricken humanity preceding the Iran-Iraq war. The film explores the wounded psyche of the inhabitants of the Iranian borders while focusing on a man who constantly travels around accompanied by his mentally ill son. Their lives, which are eternally haunted by the ambiguous killings of two family members, let the film explore all impacts of war: humans are severely traumatised and the setting which is equally mournful echoes with clarity the tragedies of the past.
