Majid Majidi ( مجید مجیدی‎ ), born April 17, 1959 in Tehran, is an actor, screenwriter, producer and director. He started performing in Theatre before the Islamic revolution and began his performance in the Iranian Cinema after the revolution. "Boycott" by Makhmalbaf is one of the films that Majidi has starred in. Majid Majidi was the only Iranian director whose film had been nominated for an Oscar by the end of 2006. He has also won best film twice at Montreal Film Festival.
