Born in1981 in Tehran, Majid Tavakkoli started his career as a journalist in “ Etemad ” newspaper in 2000. He proceeded to expand his interest in writing by collaborating with different newspapers and magazines, like “Shargh”, “Rouzegar”, “Hamshahri Javan”, “Bani Film” and “Chelcheragh”. Tavakkoli has also collaborated with organizers of different festivals, such as “Fajr Film Festival”, “Tehran Short Movie Festival”, “Cinema Verite”, “International Festival of Film for Children and Young Adults
...”, “Kish International Film Festival”, “Tehran Jasmine International Film Festival”. Part of his professional activities, Tavakkoli has also worked as assistant director in two TV series, “FORBIDDEN FRUIT” and “TEARS AND SMILES” directed by Hassan Fathai. Furthermore, due to his interest on documentary films, Tavakkoli directed “M FOR SAMIRA”, “SUZUKI GOES TO HEAVEN”, and “SULTAN”. He has also made a number of short films such as “DUEL”, “PITOOK”,“THE OPERATION WAS SUCCESSFUL”, “DINNER IS READY”, and“JULY 2nd”.
