Maziar Miri (مازیار میری) was born in 1974 in Tehran and is a renowned Iranian filmmaker. Maziar Mirii graduated in editing, and started his career with making documentaries about Iran. He made his first short film in 1996, and worked for several years in the editing department of Iranian TV. The Unfinished Song is about that Unfinished Song stars Ali-Reza Anoushfar as Farhad, a young musicologist who returns to his birthplace to record and preserve the region's traditional folk songs. When he gets there, he discovers that of the region's once-rich musical tradition, only a few songs are still performed, mainly because women are banned from singing.
