Mitra Farahani (in Persian: میترا فراهانی‎) (born in 1975) is an internationally acclaimed Iranian filmmaker, working as a cinematographer, film director and writer in Cinema. Farahani graduated in graphic design from Azad University in Tehran in 1997 then emigrated to Paris where she works in performance and arts. Aside her filmmaking activities, the Paris-based filmmaker is also known for her paintings. Her documentaries Fifi Howls From Happiness (2013), Time Suspended (2007), Ta ...bous - Zohre & Manouchehr (2004) and short film Just A Woman (2002) were screened at several festivals, winning prizes including a Teddy Award for Just a Woman and a SCAM Award at the 2013 International Documentary Film Festival Cinema du Reel for Fifi Howls From Happiness.
