As he travels through Gilan's mountainous terrain, meeting its people and immersing himself in its culture, Farzi learns broadly about the social history, traditions and agricultural customs of the region. However, the special focus of the film is on the Alam-Vachini ceremony performed there, and a bonfire gathering held before it which celebrates fire as a sign God's cleansing power.
