A House on Water is about that Dr. Sepidbakht runs over an angel one night while driving, and his fingers are deeply wounded after touching the angel. The next day at the hospital, the nurse informs him that a young unconscious boy has been brought to their ward by mistake. Dr. Sepidbakht has an encounter with Ms. Taleghani, one of his old colleagues with whom he used to have a romantic affair. Ms. Taleghani, who had left the hospital for a cancer treatment, complains about Dr. Sepidbakht's behavior. He confesses that he has felt weird after seeing the boy who knows the entire Quran by heart. His secretary, Jaleh, also complains to him about their past involvement and that she can never bear a child but he ignores her. He goes to visit his father at the retirement home and a sad conflict happens between them... Dr. Sepedbakht informs his secretary that the passengers of a white Peykan have been following him for a while and he asks her for an address to have a burglar alarm installed. His son, Mani, who has been living abroad for 15 years, comes back to Tehran, but gets arrested at the airport for carrying drugs. Dr. Sepidbakht manages to bail him out but at midnight he realizes that his son is injecting himself with drugs. He decides to take him to clinic to quit but Mani escapes the clinic. While searching for his son, he accidentally sees Jaleh's father and finds out that she has not been in contact with them for a long time, and is living alone. Jaleh is in contact with Dr. Sepidbakht's pursuers and sends them to the person who installed his alarm and get the code from him. At the hospital, the doctor sees a colored string and follows it to the young boy's room. The boy wakes up and asks Sepidbakht to take him away. At the house, the boy confesses that he first started to read Quran to attract others' attention but then he started to enjoy it and memorized all of it out of passion. However, when his parents started taking him to different places and showing him off, he got scared and passed out. During the night, the doctor wakes up from the sound of the alarm and sees some people dressed in black. He hides the boy in the closet and goes downstairs, but is attacked and killed by the intruders. The boy approaches him, takes his head in his hands and says: "I am with you."
