فصل اول سریال ماجرای خانوادهٔ «نقی معمولی» را روایت میکند که تصمیم میگیرند از شیرگاه به تهران کوچ کنند؛ اما هنگام ورود به پایتخت با مشکلات زیادی مواجه میشوند …صاحبخانه میمیرد و وراث حاضر به تحویل خانه نمیشوند، بدین ترتیب در پی مشکلاتی که در تهران برای آنها پیش میآید مجبور میشوند مدتی در کامیون ارسطو زندگی کنند. در مدتی که در پشت کامیون ارسطو هستند اتفاقات هیجان انگیز و بسیار جالبی برای خانواده معمولی رخ میدهد، مانند کمک کردن به نیروی انتظامی برای دستگیر کردن یک باند خلافکار فروشند مواد مخدر. خانواده معمولی لحظه تحویل سال نو رو باهم جشن میگیرند و قبل از بازگشت به شهر خودشان (علیآباد) تصمیم میگیرند که به مشهد سفر کنند و به این ترتیب پایتخت در حرم امام رضا به پایان میرسد.
